There are some journeys that begin quietly. Not with grand plans or pitch decks, but with a small shift in how you see the world.
Grounded® started like that for me.
Not as a project, but as a response — to how rushed our meals had become, how disconnected we were from our kitchens, and how even the food that claimed to nourish us had become… empty. I wasn’t trying to create a brand. I was just trying to find food that felt honest again.
A Marketer’s Dilemma
As someone who builds brands for a living, you’re trained to spot stories — to craft them, shape them, sell them. But Grounded wasn’t something I crafted. It was something I returned to.
I remembered the mornings in my childhood home. The smell of fresh dosa on a cast-iron pan. The quiet clink of steel tumblers. The familiar weight of home food that didn’t just fill you up but made you feel steady.
In those memories was a blueprint.
Not for nostalgia, but for what food could feel like again — local, warm, simple, trustworthy.
The World Didn’t Need Another Food Brand.
It needed food that didn’t pretend.
No plastic promises. No labels shouting “high protein” or “zero fat” while hiding things in fine print. No packaging that felt like it belonged in a laboratory. Just food made the way our mothers and grandmothers made it — with ingredients you know, techniques you respect, and no shortcuts.
That’s what we built with Grounded®. Millet batters that are soaked, ground, and fermented fresh for each order. Wood-pressed oils without additives. Atta made from whole grain wheat — not just “wheat flour” but actual whole grains. Spice blends where every ingredient has a name you can pronounce.
Food you don’t have to second guess.
Being Grounded Isn’t Just About What You Eat
It’s about how you live. And honestly, how you show up for yourself. For the people around you. And for the communities you’re quietly part of.
The people who order from Grounded aren’t looking for trends. They’re looking for something more rooted. A little closer to the earth. A little more real. Sometimes that means they find us in small ways — through a WhatsApp message, or a friend’s dosa picture, or a neighbour who insists “try this and you’ll never go back.”
And they stay. Not because we’re clever, but because the food feels right.
Why I’m Sharing This Here
This website of mine — this space — has always been where I share the things that shape me. The cities I’ve travelled to, the people I’ve learnt from, the campaigns I’ve built, the brands I’ve helped tell their stories.
Grounded isn’t just one of those brands.
It’s a reflection of everything I’ve been learning about life lately — that slow is fine. That being honest is enough. That what nourishes us is rarely complicated. And that sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is to do something simply, and do it well.
Grounded is that attempt.
Not perfect. But deeply thoughtful. A little old-school. Entirely human.
If you’ve ever believed that good food can change a day — or even a life — I hope you’ll take a moment to see what we’re building.
